Bite Obsession

Every year probably every other person in his new year resolutions says that he/she will eat healthier, drink more water and so on.

I’m actually good at my ‘diet’ – I don’t eat junk food, I hate soda and I love my veggies. I’m not saying it  to brag or say ‘look at me I eat healthy’ I’m saying it to inspire other people cause you definitely feel different when you eat better. I’m fond of snacking – there are so many healthy options – veggies, dips, dried foods and energy bars…my favs. They are easy and fast on the go. If you don’t have time for a proper meal it doesn’t mean to cannot eat healthy.

HOW TO: At Home Manicure

I do go to the salon from time to time when I need a quick fix before an important event or meeting when I don’t have time to paint my nails myself. Of course it feels luxury and far more comfortable, but I cannot justify going to the salon every week or so and pay money for something I can do myself.

Usually I do an at home manicure one a week probably though I repaint my nails 2-3 times a week. I know it’s should be can be too much for the majority of people.

Haul #5

You cannot be a beauty blogger if you are not shopping on a regular basis, right?

I love shopping and especially in beauty departments – pretty much everyday I go into drugstore just to have a look – what’s new, which products are back in stock and just to browse around and play with bits.

Recently I went into the shop and couldn’t left with nothing – just too much tempting babies.

HOW TO: Ombre Nails

I know the ombre nail trend isn’t a new one, but I just love it and if it isn’t ‘in season’ anymore I don’t care. This nail art or design is very very versatile, cause depending on the season you can easily switch the colors and make it appropriate for any time.

I’ve been meaning to do this post all summer and never got to it – either had other things to blog about or forgot about that particular idea – that’s why I have a picture with summer neon theme, but as I said you can use whatever color you wish. So how to make this ombre effect on you nails?

Another Day Another Haul

When I finished my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm I knew then and there the cleanser I want to try next – Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. A lot of people have been raving about it and with hot months it’s harder to use something that balmy and oily as EH one.

I’ve recently discovered the website Naturisimo and felt in love with it.

They sell natural and organic products – have some interesting brands as GlamGlow, Oskia, Antipodes, Bare Minerals, Caudalie, Butter London, Jurlique, Zoya, This Works and etc. The New and Offers sections are very interesting to browse – once in a while they have some really good deals. But the most exciting section is Samples. There are so many cult products’ samples to choose from. How many times we scare to invest in something we haven’t tried before? Well… now our problems are sold. There are makeup, serums, eye creams, moisturizers – everything you might wish. I’ve picked Oskia eye cream, Nourish Argan crem and Caudalie SOS serum (which I’ve dying to try)… and night cream (which I’ve lost… so sad) There are some free samples, some are a little pricier than others but you’ll get a deluxe sized one. Now a few words about a cleanser …IMG_2034

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel – £28.00 – available here. I use it as my main cleanser after taking the makeup off with Bioderma. It’s a peach pink gel that your message onto you skin then wet your hands and message further until it becomes a milky texture. Grab a cloth and wipe it away.

Based on description is seems to be a miracle cleanser! The ingredients are phenomenal – Free from artificial fragrance, alpha hydroxy acid and glycolic acid, Vitamins A, C & E, Omega 6, Starflower Oil, Pumpkin Enzymes, Chamomile and Rose.

I’ve been using it for a little bit but further thoughts will appear in a separate post since it’s too early to judge about skincare product.

Have you tried this cleanser or do you have another recommendations?

What’s In My Travel Bag

I’m a very noise person when it comes to people’s bag or makeup bag. It’s so interesting to see what other people carry around with them either on day to day basis or when they going out on holidays. So… What am I bringing with me for 6-7 days in Rome?

Firstly my makeup bag is from Allure – one month they generously gave it with every magazine – so unfortunately I cannot link to it, but here are my fav bags to travel with.

Summer Duo

I’ve been experimenting a lot with bases recently and started to notice some difference in my skin (and unfortunately towards worse condition), so had to stop piling on all that staff.

There was three hyped up but disappointing for me contestants… Should I do a separate post on that – something like ‘foundations I regret buying’? Let me know in the comment section below.

But today’s post is all about base combo that rocks.

I’ve always been a fan of Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer  – available here for £33.50 (oil free version in the shade ‘Bisque‘) – it has a wonderful coverage, for a tinted moisturizer, the shade selection is pretty wide, that glossy brown sleek packaging, it doesn’t dry out my skin and it has decent amount of SPF for summer – nothing to complain about. Just a little – on me it tends to wear off slightly and my Rudolf get exposed. This is when second buddy joins the party. Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer – available here for £8.99 *sale alert* –  oldy but goodie. This is a good old rounder – it gives a smoother canvas for foundation, it glides over pores to make their appearance less noticeable, it prolongates your foundation wear. For me it does make my tinted moisturizer stay on longer, even on my red nose.

So if you are looking for either new primer or tinted moisturizer I highly highly recommend you check out those products. One is drugstore, one is high-end and with both you get what you’ve paid for.

What is your favorite primer? Is there anything I’m missing out there? Let’s share.

MASCARA: Tips&Tricks

Makeup look isn’t complete until you apply a mascara. Either you have a full on smokey eyes or no-makeup makeup, mascara changes everything, puts everything together. Seems like there isn’t any special technique applying a mascara, but there is always room for improvement, right?

Eyelashes curlers should be your best friends. Curling your lashes before your mascara makes a huge difference – they hold shape better during the day and the mascara will fall out less (if you have that concern). If you want to achieve that baby doll look, curl the lashes throughout the whole length and not just at the roots. My favorite one is Japonesque Power Curl Eyelash Curler.

Move the wand towards your temples. This will make them appear bigger, more open – give them that cat eye effect. Flirty, sexy look, who doesn’t like that? And try to get to the roots as closer as you can – sometimes that space of bare skin can be pretty eye-catching.

Less is more. The more you layer, the fluffier your lashes are. But don’t go too overboard cause they will start to clump and look … well … bad. So try to restrain yourself at 2 coats and no reapplying.

Don’t be a Scrooge. Through out your mascara every 3 months. Every time you open the tube and air comes in the dries out the product, plus it becomes a bacteria hotbed which may lead to the eye inflammation. The best way to keep track of those things – calendar reminder. At least I do so – every time I open a new mascara I set an alarm in 3 month time, when it goes off the mascara becomes a trash no matter how many times I’ve actually used it). Easy peasy.

Bottom eyelashes. If you want to achieve more significant and dramatic look apply mascara only on the outside half of the lower eyelashes, that will elongated you eyes, give you sort of sexy flirty look.

Oil. If you are using a waterproof mascara the better best way to remover it is to use oil – olive oil, for example. Not only it will break up any product, but it also will condition you lashes, won’t strip the sensitive skin around eye area.

Do you have any interesting tips and tricks to share? And what is your holy grail mascara? Please pop them down below.

HOW TO: being organized

Sometimes it’s hard to be productive – we’ve all been there when you either don’t know where to start or how to make the most out of your day. Luckily I was taught since childhood how important to be organized and not to waste your treasured time since you can never get it back. Growing up I’ve accumulated several golden rules that help me survive. Today I’ve decided to help those you struggle with that problem or those you want just to learn something new – you are all welcomed.

  1. Keep track of everything you need to do and the deadlines. Thus you can plan when the certain thing needs to be done and can easily prioritize you tasks – something is more urgent and some things can wait for a next week or so
  2. Diary. Keep notes of every appointment, every meeting, every important date (either exam, either birthday or simply important assignment)
  3. Wear watch. Just to be aware of the time spent, the time left and so on
  4. Give yourself a rest. If you feel you aren’t doing your best try have a 10-15 minute break – we aren’t robots, we are human beings and we can get tired, it’s a normal thing. Go grab a healthy snack or listen a couple of you fav songs, read several pages of the book you’re currently enjoying or simply watch a YouTube video, but don’t get TOO distracted
  5. Keep you working place clean. My mind is always lost whether my desk is cluttered. I don’t even have a desire to sit their and do staff – even pleasant one. Mind refuses to work. Try to leave there only useful and needed things, put away all the cr*p
  6. Fresh air. If you can work outside. If don’t (like the majority of people) provide yourself with fresh air. In the summer I have a window 24/7 open and during colder time I make sure that during my break (#3) I let some fresh air in at least for 10 min
  7. Prepare outfits and bag essential ahead. This might seem weird, but trust me it’s equally important. We are noticing how much time we spend in the mornings picking out what to wear and what to pack out bags with – this or that lipstick, where are those socks, do I need a laptop today, where is my charger, amply pack of tissues…what,  where are those socks, this tee is dirty, I need a fresh one… I’m sure one of those question popped out your mouth sometimes. Am I right?

Hope those recommendation will help you and if you have something to share – please do, I’ll really appreciate that.

P.S. I always keep a hand cream near me, why not moisturize you hands, do you agree?
