WEEK HEROES #16

Again end of weekends and time for my weekly favorites. This week I made myself use some forgot beauty bits, the ones that were collecting dust at the back of my drawers. I think it’s interesting and necessary to change up the routine. Get out the comfort zone.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation in #51. This was bought back in May or something (Estee was raving about it even then and it made into her 2013 favs – big deal!) This is light to medium coverage, feels weightless on the skin, looks natural. Back them I didn’t like that – I thought they emphasized dry patches on my skin (apparently I had dehydrated skin then), but this week I’ve decided to give it another go and … I’m in love. It glides on smoothly – obviously my skin got better, yay!

Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera – full review here – this isn’t really ‘dusty’ thing, but I couldn’t NOT use it. Cream blushes are so great for winter – they sink into the skin and look very natural, glow from inside, like you spend whole day outside in the countryside playing / walking / having fun.

Essie nailpolish in Sand Tropez – you know m passion about Essie nail polishes. This is a stunning shade. It doesn’t look mannequin-ish, like some shades can do, it just adds chic look. Easy-to-wear shade. Compliments every outfit. This week I wore it non-stop.

KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in #05 Rosy Brown. Such a gorgeous shade, just like a name suggests – not too brown, not too purple – something in between (more colors and swatches here). You can sheer them out for sparkly veil or you can build them up for intense color. They are creamy, build-able, blend-able – all positive –ables! And very affordable.

Aura Cacia Restoring Rosehip Oil with Vitamin E – I’ve picked it up on iHerb months ago and kind go forgot about it, been using other oils and treatments. Recently pulled that out and started using and it is SO good. It really hydrates the skin, makes it smoother, works great on some blemishes or small break outs – overnight no signs. Will go on using and repurchasing!

WEEK HEROES #15

Another week another favorites. I think with out further do I’ll just jump into products and random staff.

My Inglot palette was feeling lonely so I’ve decided to get more use out of it. This week’s shade is shimmery brown one – Inglot #423P. Such a nice do-it-all shade. Good all over the lid shade – provides a nice wash of color, appropriate for day’n’night, subtle but yet noticeable shine.

Since summer is way behind and I’m a fan of alive a.k.a. dewy skin this guy was pretty handy this week. KIKO Glow. I’ve been applying it underneath the foundation to have to glow from beneath. Mission accomplished, my skin looked better and fresher.

Tyrone Wells. I use Shazam app on a daily basis and this artist appeared several times there so I thought I must of love his songs. They are relaxing / calming / the words are incredible. My favorite ones are ‘Time of Our Lives‘ and ‘This is Beautiful‘.

TV Show? Vampire Dairies. I’ve been hooked on this show a long time ago but then the summer started – no computer, no wifi and all that staff… But this week I got on track back and rewatched the whole 3 seasons. The better is yet to come.

A bit of makeup at the end. Mascara. Maybelline the Rocket one. I recently bought it and forgot how much I loved it. I just incredible. Make my lashes long an curved and full of volume. Just what I need.

What was your favorite things this week? Please leave a comment below.

How to: Festive Makeup look

We all want to look super chic and festive during the Christmas parties, right? Some of us prefer heavier eye makeup look – some intense smoky eyes or interesting wing eye liner, but of course there are some girls who are planning on rocking bold lip. I did a bit of digging through my stash and came up with two different looks so you have some option.

IMG_0231

For smokey eyes I’ve picked some common colors. I think it’s a not a good thing to experiment on a night-out, cause you want to feel confident in your makeup look, so go for some reliable products. Eye primer is super important + you can apply some cream eyeshadow underneath to be sure. I’ve applied MAC Paint Pot in Eclair as a base and then I went for MAC eyeshadow in Club – (I’ve talked about it here) – all over the lid and up to the crease. I wanted this look to be quite eye-catching, so I applied dark burgundy shade from Maybelline quad across lower lash line. Plenty of mascara and you are done!

IMG_0230

Being not a big fan of lip products in general I don’t own that much, but I do have one red option that I love. Rimmel Kate Moss #10. If you are planning on wearing a bold lip make sure you used a lip scrub and a lip balm before – super important. I don’t like all that fuss around lip pencils. The only tool I use is a lip brush – you want to be as neat as possible. For eyes go simple. I’ve used my Chanel eye pencil across the lash line smudged out – just for a definition and a bit on the bottom one – just because it suit my eyes, you may skip this step.

For complexion with either look go natural. Nars ‘Laguna’ for a slight contouring job, Tart Amazonian Clay blush in Exposed for neutral cheeks and a bit of MAC ‘Soft and Gentle’ for glow.

Don’t forget to use flash-friendly foundation!

Good luck :)

Maybelline Diamond Glow

Well, it’s just a matter of time when the new eyeshadow land into my stash. I love MAC eyeshadows for their color range and pan-palette system, I love Urban Decay for their buttery texture and Inglot ones for availability and lower price range.

Image

When I saw this Maybelline Diamond Glow quad in Coral Drama, I just fell in love with it. I just screams faaaaaall, don’t you think so? This it a perfect selection of colors – by using only these you have create perfect either daytime or night look. Even on the back of the packaging it gives a detailed instruction how and where to apply the colors.

Image

The 1st shade is perfect for inner-conner highlight or under the brow bone.

The 2nd one is on the peachier side and looks incredible all over the lid during the day – or you can smoke it up with darker shade for a night out.

The next shade is soo eye-catching – pink-ish coral-ish goddess. I like to place it in the middle of the lid, to make it more vibrant, stylish and ‘something-something‘.

The last one in the palette is reddish brown shade – versatile shade – either all over the lid for dramatic look or in the crease for smokey-eye business.

The texture is not chalky at all – there are even quite buttery, soft and smooth. They are nice, like really nice. I think I’m gonna check out some other quads.

They are also pretty shimmery, like and name Diamond Glow is suggesting, so if you are more a matt girl, then you should think twice before buying it, but if you are like me, shimmer fan , then this is the one. Definitely check it out.

I been using this palette for the past week a lot. I think it’s good for traveling in terms of shades, so easy to full of any look, though the packaging leaves more to be desired – I’m afraid it’s not very practical and sturdy. But I doubt it will stop me from taking it on holidays.

Have you tried recently any good eyeshadows? I’m ready to expand my wishlist.

WEEK HEROES #9

Well hello guys!

Firstly I wanna state right away – I hate rainy weather. Now where I live it’s constantly raining and you now that heavily, but that tinny tiny crapy one, the one that it so annoying and freezing. oh…even now I feel angry :)

Done with weather issue – moving to more pleasant topic – beauty.

IMG_9917

My first love is Caudalie Beauty Elixir. The most hyped up skincare products out there in the beauty community I suppose. It’s a toner / miss packed with essential oils. I use it in the morning as a toner and during the day when I feel the skin tightens. You know that feeling, like someone’s pulling you skin in a different direction. Yes, I know – I’m a weird person with strange feelings. As I said because of the crapy weather my skin feels less hydrated and need a boost – this is the bit to go for!

Makeup wise – Maybelline Diamond Glow quad in Coral Drama. Love from 1st sight. I love all the colors, the texture, the versatility – everything about it. Stay tuned for in-depth review with swatch tomorrow morning. For now you can just trust me – it’s a good one!

Ultimate care staff – jojoba oil. I’ve already spoken about it in my Monday post and yes, I feel like it should do it once again. It’s just an amazing oil, good for hair, face, body, nails. All-rounder. Travel-friendly. Money-saver. Just read the Monday post, I listed all concerns it can cope with.

Tangle Teezer. This is perfect brush – it make the brushing process miracle – knots detangler, scalp massager, hand sizer, color admiration. You can use on both wet and dry hair. I love spreading hair serums / oils / treatments with this, it makes it evenly and no greasy hands. Dah!

Another exciting announcement made my week. Have you heard? Do you know the one I’m talking about? MAC Disney Maleficent Collection (spring 2014). I haven’t seen any of the products yet, nothing, but I knew then and there – the packing should be amazing, I have to have something just for the sake of the packaging. We all are fond of cool packaging / embellishments / signs. Please, tell me I’m not the only one!

Do you have any recommendation for me to try out? What have you been loving lately?

To line or not to line…?

There are so many options when it comes to eyeliners – some of them waterproof and meant for waterline, some are creamy and cut be smudged on the upper lash-line and I will sort out another category – the ones you use however you like, is it the benefit of make-up to use it the way you want?

I’ve picked up several option that I’m planning on rocking this fall/winter. There are some pretty much expected browns, some unusual purples and greys. Let’s dig in?Image

The first option is Rimmel ScandalEyes Kohl Kajal in purple. I like to pair in with matt brown eyeshadow and smudging it a bit on the lower lash-line. This looks a bit edgy (the edgy-est that the daytime can handle) and green-eye girls can also use this to make their eye color pop.

Next on the menu is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in Rockstar. This is a dark burgundy-purple shade, that in certain lights can look pretty dark. When I first tried UD pencils I fell in love. Seriously. If you don’t own one, please, I’m begging you, save up some money and pick one up. You won’t regret spending a penny. It’s waterproof, creamy-dreamy and stays put. Ideal. Sometimes I’m rocking the Rockstar on its own, just with a bit of mascara.

The follower is Lancome Le Crayon Khol in grey. When I was younger I was fond of lining my waterline with a dark color, but I never used black – always though (and still do) that it’s just to much – so I’m a muted dark color lover. You ca barely guess that it was a grey pencil I’ve used, but the eyes are completely different then with a black one. It’s hard to explain, just try it, okay? :)

Another waterproof version – the taupe brown Make Up For Ever Aqua Eye pencil in 19L. Pure matt pure simple. I use it with brown smoky eyes to define the lash line to make it look wider and fuller. It stay the whole day/night and does the jog great. No complains.

There is always room for blues. My pick is Sephora Nano Eyes Crayon in 18 (blue jean). Even the name makes me love this pencil. For an blue eyeliner I got a pretty good use of it – I’m left with 1/2 of it, I think. Rich blue shade with a micro shimmer that practically unnoticeable when applied. I like to dot it on my lower lash-line for a definition, gives the oomph to the eye. Liiiike that.

And of course with an odd to UD pencils I just couldn’t squeeze another one. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Pencil in Underground.  A metallic taupe shade. This is all-round winner for me. As a liner with a flick? Done. Lash-line definition? Done. Lower lash-line job? Done. Eye base for shadows? Done, done, done!

Do you have any recommendation for me? Are there any must-have shades from UD 24/7 I should give a go? Please comment below, I really like to talk to you.

THE WEEK HEROES #3

Another week passed & what does it mean? Another round-up of ‘WEEK HEROES’. This week turned up to be quite a full-on one in terms of new discoveries and first-time-tried bits. So get ready to spot new staff and hope you’ll like them as much as I do!IMG_9529_FotorOPI ‘Yoga-ta get this blue’. Since OPI launched this color…what like 5 years ago… I’ve never even seen that color. Even when I’ve become obsessed with collecting nail polishes this shade fell out my radar. This fall the blues are way popular and trendy then ever so it’s a perfect time for my discovery. This is gorgeous dark blue with micro blue-ish green-ish turquoise-ish shimmer. Say hi to the galaxy on your nails. MAC ‘Club’. Greeny-browny shade – flattering across all fronts. If you like eyeshadows, if you want a unique color – invest in this one (or you can google for a dupe  – I know Maybelling have similar one – Olive Martini quad, L’Oreal HIP Intrepid or Wet’n’Wild Comfort Zone Definer shade). My new ‘Shopping Plan’ notepad. Isn’t it amazing? Hilarious inscription, pink cover and it’s lined or dated inside – wow! Dotting tool. When I’ve discovered nail art I knew I need this thing. It’s very cheap and really helpful aaaand double ended. You can buy this on ebay for a couple ob bucks. I used this one to make my recent ‘Wild nails’Benefit ‘The POREfessional’. This is sample sized version and I usually don’t wear primers, but for a night-out duty this is a must. This made my makeup put, no fading and no visible pores – mission accomplished. I’ve pulled out my Laura Mercier TM and felt in love with it. Again. Probably not the best option for this time of the year, but if you fancy something light weighted, fresh – go for it!

Do you have any stood-out products?

THE WISHLIST #1

Well, of course there is a lot of things we want to have, but due to some circumstances we simple can get it. It’s either lack of money, or limited distribution line or something else. As for me it’s my country to blame. We barely get some high-end new launches, I’m not even trying to say a word about drugstore bits.

Blablabla as usual. Me being me.

The item I’ve spotted and got obsessed about getting is Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay On Paints (they just couldn’t come up with a longer name, could they?)

My personal favorite is “Chained” Shade.
