Feelunique Haul

Well, I’ve been shopping and there is no surprise that there been some they-made-me-buy-it purchases. I’ve used some of my skincare and haircare products and was looking for some new staff to try out. Here is what I’ve came up with.

IMG_0916

  • John Frieda Volume Shampoo & Conditioner. Since Amelia has been raving about them A LOT and none minds a bit of extra volume in there hair I’ve decided to give it a go. Plus they are super affordable. Available here.
  • Since I just couldn’t buy ONE thing that Amelia is recommending, I also picked up the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser. After I’ve seen before and after pics I’ve decided to try it out and see for myself. I’ll keep you posted on that one – may be it will pop up in my monthly/weekly favorites!
  • I ran out of my beloved Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate (mentioned here) and decided to try something else. Similar oil based serum type of thing. I came across REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil 30ml – available here (and be careful, it seems to be out of stock pretty frequently) – seems to be quite a nice product and I do like REN range, so today planning a quick facial using it. Review will be coming – either good or … Hope it will be a good one. I have high hopes on them product.
  • Dry cuticle is my all-time problem. No matter how frequently and heavily I’m moisturizing them it’s no enough. Whyyyy….? That’s why I’ve picked this Badger Balm Mini Cuticle Care from Feelunique.com. Seems to be a miracle worker. Fingers crossed.

Have you tried any of those products? What have you purchased recently?

Short or Long?

The yesterday’s post got me into thinking…

Short or long hair?

Short hair requires less product, less effort. You don’t have to style it that much and that long. But at the same time you are limited in hair styles and seems like the moment your hair was cut you start missing it and start counting the days / months until it grow back.

Long hair. It’s beautiful. Let’s be honest here… I think deep inside a girl with shorter hair at some point becomes jealous about the hair you used to have.

But I’m so tired of long hair. I want chop-chop some.

What are you guys think?

Long or short?

Hello January

Well, this is it – we are officially in 2014. Cannot believe it. Seems like every year is just passing faster and faster. The only thing we can do is to set goals for ourselves and achieve them. This is how it should work. Start with smaller and easier things just to feel that feeling of accomplishment. After you know that feeling, how great it is – then you can make bigger and more significant plans. AND never let anyone feel like you cannot have something you really want.

Okay, enough spiritual thoughts. Moving on to beauty staff and some randoms of course.

Cold time is cream blush time. – Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera.  Cheeks (mine) are getting drier and powder blushes just emphasis it – not good. Those one blend into the skin, they stay put and look very natural.

Gloves – my all time favorite ones. They aren’t particularly cute or unique colored – they are just touch-screen friendly. Perfect for cold months when you don’t want to take your gloves off under any circumstances. Now you can. And they are grey a.k.a. go with any coat color. You don’t draw attention – just pure comfort.

Darker nails. My weakness. The recent addition but already very worn and very loved. Mavala nail polish in Amethyst. Just a gorgeous color – vampy purply sophisticated. And look at this small cute bottle with a metal lid. This is kind of nail polish tube I might finish. Yep.

Candles. I’ve been really naughty and picked this Diptyque candle set from Space NK during the holidays. The all smell incredible, I cannot even pick one. I’m burning Ambre right now – spicey matured scent, with a bit of sweet something. I’m bad at describing scents apparently.

There isn’t a good relaxing evening without a bath. And what can make a bath more pleasant and calming? Right – bath oil. This Aromatherapy Associates Miniature Bath Oil Collection is just incredible (available here on sale!) – the packaging, the smell and results. I love them. One lid is enough to make your whole apartment smell. And the Relax ones – faves.

It wouldn’t be me without a statement necklace in a post. Zara inspired one, cause I couldn’t get my hands on a real one. But this one is still good. Love it, already wore a cr@p out of it. So interesting and feminine at the same time.

More makeup. I’m back in love with my Urban Decay Naked palette. So many gorgeous shade that compliment each other and my eye color. No matter which you use you’ll look amazing. This is the only UD palette I own and now everyone is going crazy over Naked3 – not a fan. Those pink – not my thing, sorry. I’m loyal to this baby.

A bit of hair staff. We are again reunited with my Phyto 9. Spoke about it here – not gonna ramble more. My hair just need it.

Happy to be back. Feels so nice and fresh.

WEEK HEROES #13

Again this time of the week when I share my favorites with you. I haven’t noticed that week, seriously. The time flies so fast that I’m scared a bit – seems like I’m missing so much, that I there are so many opportunities and I’m not using those chances. But I’m working on that, I’m pushing myself to some action, cause just thinking and planning doesn’t help, it doesn’t give any results.

Wow, this is some deep thoughts on Sunday morning, haha. Back to beauty, shall we?

MAC ‘Frankly Scarlet’ blush. This is probably the scariest blush shade I’ve ever seen yet the most beautiful color on cheeks. You need the tiniest amount and with light-handed application you get nice flush. You know those cheeks after a walk one cold morning and you end up with rosy cheeks? Well this is it.

Kerastase Ultimate Elixir. I’ve already mention this product couple of times already, but it’s worth mentioning it one more time. I use 1-2 pumps on dump hair and my frizzy and hard hair transforms into silky smooth, flowing hair. Even my mom noticed that the one day and asked me what is that I’m using. Isn’t it a sign of quality? For me, defiantly.

Silver cat necklace. This necklace / pendant was gifted to my when I was 15-ish and I still love it and still wear it in my 20s. I find it so adorable and yet feminine – it compliments pretty much any outfit. I also get do many question like where I get it? when can I buy it? etc… I honestly don’t know, if I did I’d share for sure.

A bit of food fav? Yes please. Alpro Almond Milk. I’m sure you all noticed that now people are becoming more and more concerned about their eating habits and try to eat as healthy as then can. Me too. Honestly I gave up eating meat couple of years ago and I’m feeling much better. Now I’m trying to cut down some diary – I found that I cannot stand the scent of regular milk (sorry if some of you love milk) and I’ve noticed Io’m getting little break-outs whenever I drink it. The decision was obvious – give up milk. Now I’m in love with this staffIt sweet, I tastes great, nice with both tea and coffee. Cannot complain.

China Glaze ‘Purr-fect plum’. Such a nice shade, the winter appropriate and flattering. The brush it great, long and thin. With Seche Vite stay chip-less for a goof 4-5 days. It also reminds me of Essie ‘Recessionista’ – in care you are looking for a good cheaper alternative.

Hope you guys are having a good day. I’ll see you tomorrow!

To-do: pampering edition

I love me some pamper – whether it’s a weekend thing or pick-me-up during the week. Depending on the amount of time I have I vary the program. But when it comes to Christmas pamper, well, this is the moment to go wild.

Christmas pamper

I love to start with cleansing my face, so I can then slap on a mask. I use my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm first and then apply any of my favorites mask, which I’ve already talked about here. Here I went with Aesop Parsley Seed one – multipurpose guy.

Then there is a bath on the menu – relaxing, scented one. Plug on you favorite movie or a TV show, pour some essential oil or melt a bath ball and escape from the real world for 20 minutes. Follow up with volumizing shampoo and conditioner – Kerastase Bain Volumactive Shampoo and Kerastase Bain Volumifique Conditioner, we all want that voluminous I-just-got-my-hair-done style, right?

Time for skin- and haircare. For hair I’ve picked my newer baby – Kerastase Ultimate Elixir. On a damp hair couple of pumps, distribute evenly and brush through. With skin there is more fuss a.k.a more products. Body hydration – Body Shop Body Butter ‘ Raspberry’ (I need a bit of summer during the colds…) Toners – for exfoliating – Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner, for hydrating – Caudalie Beauty Elixir. Serum – predictable choice – Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. Moisturizing wise – mix of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery and Claring Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil. This is a mind-blowing combo, a.k.a. fresh glowy rested skin!

Moving on to ‘meni-pedi‘… Fresh nails – it’s a key. Take a cuticle remover – Sally Hansen one for instance and a tool and push the cuticle back. The pick colors of your choice – my wining combo is red+sparkles. The cut made OPI ‘Big Red Apple’ and ‘My Favorite Ornament’ as an accent nail. For toes I went plain red. Gentle nourish the nails with some oil (Essie Apricot Oil may do or some natural oils like  jojoba oil / even olive oil) or cuticle butter – Burts Bees Lemon Butter. For toes hydration I went for Gehwol Balsam Normale Haut – hydrates, calms down, sits lightly. Thumbs up!

Now you are ready for fussy socks and cosy pajamas. To finish of the pamper watch some Christmas movies, I think it’s just a perfect timing. Need some movie ideas? I got you sorted here. What a calming, tech-free evening? Well, my Goodread’s page is a solution. Have you seen a widget on the right side column? Yep.

What is you favorite part of pampering routine? Hope you are having a great time, guys!

Unfortunately it’s last but not least post in my Christmas series. Hope you enjoyed! I real enjoyed doing them and if you have any post request, please leave them in the comment section.

Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repair 6 Effects Serum

It was just a matter of time when the hair treatment is going to pop up in my blog. I just recently got into haircare, but even being a newly I’ve already collected pretty big amount of staff – mask, conditioners, hair oil, some leaving treatments.

I love have some easy products at hand – the ones you can use on either wet or dry hair.

Image

Goldwell Dualsenses Rich Repair 6 Effects Serum (100ml)* – £11.50 – from HQHair.com. I have normal / dry hair, some split ends – the package deal I would say, so when it come to care I always go for nourishment. This guy promises to give a multiply effect – silky smooth hair, shinier and more healthier appearance in general. I haven’t used it that much, maybe a week or so but there are some changes already. Actually I don’t believe that any treatment may help with split ends – you either have them and should get rid of them, or you simply don’t have them. This treatment definitely made my hair silkier, they are softer now, I really want to touch them, you know that feeling, when every time you slipping you hand through hair and you like what you feel? Well, this is what I got while using this staff.

As for consistency it’s a serum – liquid cream as I like ti explain my mom – you need several pumps for long/medium hair then gently distribute all over damp or dry hair. Then you can proceed with styling without using any heat protectors since this serum also protects the hair from any heat tools and also act as an anti-frizz bit.

It also has a pretty strong scent but I like it, it’s something between fruity and floral. To be honest it does smell a bit artificial, but I don’t mind at all since it doesn’t interfere with my perfume or any of that jazz. So why complain?

Overall I like that product, I’m pleased with short-term results already, We’ll see for the future, I’ll keep you posted.

Hope my review was helpful. Be sure to leave comments with you recommendation!

Before-bed pamper

I just love the time when all the hommy business is done and after a long day you just have time for yourself, for a little daily relax. I take off my make up as soon as I get home (at least I try to do that way), so cleansing and all that skincare-ing don’t fall into relax category.

IMG_9984

My pampering session starts when I’m already in my pajamas. I’m wrapping in my blanket, take my bobs&bits and here comes ‘the party’. I’m starting with my feet and gently cover them with a cream that I have on rotation right now – Gehwol Balsam Normale Haut. Then I put on warm socks and move on to hair. A little blob of hydrating oil to help the hair is always great, huh? I’m really liking Moroccanoil Original – I feel like it really does something for my hair. Now it’s time for arms. I’m taking a rich cream – Burt’s Bees Almond Milk Beeswax hand cream and apply it all over and mainly concentrating on the elbows and hands/cuticles. Let’s move on? Yes. Lips. I’m using my DIY lip scrub every other night (if you fancy making your own one – check the link) and then moisture, moisture, moisture – NUXE Reve de Miel. Sometimes I’m going super crazy and I put on gloves.

Before bed I’m trying not use any electronic devises so that I can rest properly and clear my mind. So I’m taking a book that I’m currently reading or grab a magazine just to flick through several pages. Sometimes I’m putting a slow and relaxing music as a background, that cannot harm, right?

This is how I like to spend my 20minutes-before-bed time. What is your night routine? Am I missing something, pop your recommendations in the comment section.

Phyto 9 – the hair saver

IMG_8940

I go through phases when I only care about make-up – I’m expirimenting with colors, textures, products – I try different eye combos or try to wear more bright lip shades. Other time I’m obsessed about skincare – I surf internet about new launches, some awesome cult products, I wanna go and buy some new creams, serums and all that staff – daily-nightly study skincare gurus’ blogs. Now it is the hair phase.

I have a pretty curly hair and like every other girl with curls I want to straight them – obviously. BUT I don’t do it on a daily basis and I only get rid of curls on the front – they just doesn’t look flattering. And generally my hair is normal/dry – I would say that the ends are dry. So with my haircare routine the only thing I’m looking for is hydration.

So, this bit was picked up while I was in Paris (if you fancy to see some photos, I did a slideshow post here) and I’m sooo glad I did cause this helped me to ‘survive’ the hot summer by the beach.

The Phyto 9 is a cream for hair. literally. It a natural mixture of oils and plant extracts (macadamia oil, calendula, soybean, burdock, rosemary etc.) – those babies set the deal with my hair. Thank you.

It suggested to apply to towel-dried or dry hair. The majority of them time I use it on semi-dried hair – after shower I brush the hair through with my tangle teezer (another genius invention) and let them blow-dry for a while (but not completely!) then I take a pea sized blob onto my hands and spread it all over the hair (5-10 cm from the roots) and mostly concentrating on the problem areas – the ends! And leave them to blow-dry completely.

My hair is waaay more softer, the ends don’t need a rehab anymore and the overall condition is better – almost instantly. This cream really does nourish, smoothes.

Is you think that this one can be slightly heavy for you hair type I would advice to go for Phyto 7. This is lighter Phyto 9 version. Good luck!

What are your surviving hair products? Tell me in the comments below – I’m hands down for any recommendations!
