I’m a big fan of reading and I honestly cannot understand when people say they either hate reading or they simple have no time to read. As I see it they just haven’t found the right book for them, the one that holds their breathe, that cause them staying up late night (or even sleepless nights – I know how, I love to, I practice a lot), that makes them skip meals reading and so on… sure you get an idea.
Nowadays there are so many option to ‘read’ books – paper books, Kindles, iPads or you can even buy some audible books to listen while stuck in traffic or simply while multitasking. As for I’m a complete paper book lover – I love turning over the pages, being able to re-read some moments and even at the end when I close the book I like to have a moment appreciating what I’ve read. So I’ve recently been to book shop and I’ve picked quite a lot of books, let’s dig in?
They are all in Russian, so don’t bother *wink wink*
Allegiant by Veronica Roth – I got hooked, that’s the only explanation I have. I’ve swallowed the previous 2 books in 2 days and cannot wait for the 3 part. I love it. I don’t want to give out any spoilers If someone is still reading / planning on, but there is some serouis debate over the final – some people hated it, some loved it. I loved it. And I wasn’t even a fiction reader.
Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier – the first book in the trilogy (seems like a pattern here with all those trilogies) and it’s about time traveling. Interesting ideas, easy language, sometimes sarcastic – so far so good.
Billie by Anna Gavalda – book about friendship, about love, about noticing the world around you, about finding yourself and embracing it. Haven’t started that yet, I’ll keep you posted.
Bonjour Tristesse by Françoise Sagan – I’ve never read anything by Françoise Sagan and since many of my friends are obsessed over him keep recommending me him I’ve decided to give a try and bought his best-seller (or at least the store pile said so).
The Paris Wife by Paula McLain – hard to explain something you haven’t read so I’m quoting Goodreads – “A deeply evocative story of ambition and betrayal, The Paris Wifecaptures a remarkable period of time and a love affair between two unforgettable people: Ernest Hemingway and his wife Hadley”. The quote from the book: “People belong to each other only as long as they both believe. He stopped believing.” Isn’t it pretty and sad at the same time?
