Top Summer Picks

When Bella and I decided to do a collar post we knew we wanted it to be a summer inspired and what can be more summery than some product recommendations? After done with reading my post go over to Bella’s blog.

As far as makeup goes is pretty obvious, right? Self-taner, bright eyeliner and tinted lip balm. This summer purple is in trend right now which I couldn’t been more pumped about since it’s my favorite color. For that I can rely on my new-ish MAC Designer Purple eyeliner – full review here. Bright, sparkling purple goddess. Nothing else to say. Summer is time for minis  – shorts, skirts and for glowy healthy wash of color I love to use Caudalie Divine Legs – it bronzy shimmery lotion that you apply onto you legs (and arms as I do) and you forget about pale veiny skin for the day. In the evening you just rinse it off and you are pale again – sad.. but tomorrow is the the day, right? *wink-wink*. And to protect your lips but still give a slight tint – love my little pot – Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. It nourishes the lips, gives them the wet finish with pink hue (in a good way of course).

The more interesting part – nails. Here things are getting more interesting and experimenting. Liquid sand, neon and trend color. As for liquid sand I go for OPI – Can’t Let Go shade was part of the Mariah Carey collection. It dries very quickly, lasts on the nails pretty long and sparkles on the sunshine. As for neon I love Orly Glowstick shade – it’s very acid yellow, the brightest you can imagine. I’d recommend using a white polish base to make it more opaque and easier to apply (neons can be tricky). For trend color I’ve chose blue shade. Bright cobalt aqua blue – Essie in Strut Your Staff nail polish. It’s part of the new summer collection and I could not not pick it up.

I loved doing this collar – if some of you have any other ideas for my posts or you want to do a collar with me, I’d be happy to participate!

WEEK HEROES #14

I’m so excited – this is the latest Sunday before Christmas and one more Sunday till New Year. The Christmas tree is set and decorated, the presents are bought / wrapped and place under the tree. I cannot wait till holiday dinners, presents exchange, festive mood.

This week was pretty intense – that menu planning, last-minute shopping, wrapping business – I barely had time and mood to wear makeup, but I still managed to throw some beauty bobs and bits.

MAC eyeshadow in Patina – browny goldfish – (swatch here). You can apply it light-handed and have pretty gold wash of color or you may go heavier and pile it on you get that brown, grey-ish tone to show up. Wore both ways, love both ways.

Seche Vite top coat. I’m sure you all heard about that legendary topcoat. It dries your nails super fast, leaves them with unbelievable shine and makes the nail polish last longer. I’ve used it a lot in the past but didn’t end up repurchasing. Recently saw one in the store and felt back in love. It’s just incredible and I can forgive its strong scent and it has some super strong one, trust me…

Korres lip butter in Jasmine. Slightly tinted lip balm that not only revives you lips and helps with chapped lips and it also gives a pink-ish shine. You can wear it as a lip gloss with smokey eyes or just on a no-makeup makeup days and you don’t have to worry about moisturizing lips constantly. The only down side is pot packaging – not the most convenient and hygienic staff to use on the go.

Desperate Housewives – my all-time favorite TV show ( they are battling with Sex and the City for the 1st place). I’ve watched it already several times. It also comes so handy while wrapping the presents – episode after episode and the pile of presents is getting smaller. Pleasant + effective! Me likey.

Last but not least – song favorite. The Christmas season isn’t complete without a festive song, right? Beautiful Christmas by Big Time Rush. I have that on repeat everyone – on my computer, in  my car, in the speakers…I just keeps me going and energies me – like batteries (or coffee a.k.a my weakness)

How prepared are you guys for Christmas? Hope you are all doing great – happy Sunday!

Hello October

It’s officially cold. Boots and sweaters, worm tights and wool socks, gloves and hats are on the menu. Let’s get ready cause the forecasts predict the fall and winter to be cold, like really cold.

The make up and skincare are not an exception and should also be rounded-up. What I’m gonna wear more these days? Let’s see.

ImageThe 1st category is my favs – nails! Of course, didn’t anyone even doubt? I can wear brights neons all year round, but darks are only allowed in cold seasons. I’ve picked OPI ‘Everymonth is Octoberfest’ – dark red with purple-blue-ish undertones with a shimmer – stunning. Another welcomed option is berry – Butter London ‘Queen Vic’ and of course say hello to the pure black – Essie ‘Licorice’.

Next category – makeup. Bronzers are the best friends during the cold season. My choice is Body Shop Honey Bronzer ’01’. For the blush I went for berry option – surprise-suprise. TheBalm ‘The Cabana Boy’ – the new addition and already in-love and already smashed – damn….The eyes – the most exciting part for me. This season the olive and burnished gold is very trendy – so I went for my Inglot shade – greenish gold – niiice. Also I’m pulled out my Mac ‘Club’ and Paint Pot ‘Eclair’ (the limited addition, unfortunately)…Mac knows the eyes!

Skincare time! The heavy oils and multi-purpose ones are lined up and ready to be splashed on the face/body/hair. Face-wise:Trilogy Rosehip oil, Argan Oil 100% – both moisturize and hydrate the skin. Hair-wise – Moroccanoil the original one. Multi-purpose one – NUXE Huile Prodigieuse – face, body, hair – wherever you wish. In the summer I don’t bother using masks or some facials – guilty, I know.I feel like during the summer my skin is behaves pretty good and only during the transitions it’s acting out, but there is a solution – AesopParsley Seed Mask (the full review’s coming soon, stay tuned). As far as my hands are concerned they get super dry during fall and winter and I always carry something in bag to keep them company – Kiehls’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve or Loccitane one (20% Karite) – both great the seal the deal perfectly. Lips-wise – Korres Lip balm in Jasmine – the smell…the taste…the results…!
