TOP 5 For Autumn

Those kind of posts keep popping up here and there and it got me thinking – if I need to pick top 5 what would they be?

Autumn is a hard time for skin in general – it’s hard to get used to colder weather and not to forget to use more heavy duty staff. The fluids should be substituted by rich creams, some tinted moisturizers by more covering bases to get more protection from cold and pollution. Hands and nails also start lacking some moisture. So what I pull out during fall?

WISHLIST #4

When new season comes we are always up for changes – clothes, jobs, places and of course makeup. There are so many new launches and oldy-but-goody things I have yet to try, so I think it’s more than appropriate time for another ‘WISHLIST’ post. Maybe some of you have already tried something I want, some of you can take a little inspiration for upcoming Bdays or any other special occasion. So what do I have here…?

Image

The new-launch: Shu Uemura Fall 2014 Vision of Beauty rocks. When I first saw this picture on BritishBeautyBlogger I was wowed. The colors, the packaging and especially that eyeshadow palette..divine. There are actually 2 upcoming palettes – head over to BBB to see the rest.

The fashion: When summer comes I’m always on a hunt for a new cross body mini bag. I’ve seen a lot of pastel blue popping out here and there and I’ve decided I want something of that color. Then I’ve spotted this Bleecker Triple Zip Crossbody by Coach – available here – $178. It’s not cheap, but I now I will get a lot of use out of this and it will last m a long time. BUT they aren’t shipping to my country, so I need to find a way to get it.

The tools: Zoeva is another thing that keep getting more and more popular among beautybloggers and fashionbloggers. They seem to be good quality and they are affordable. The have a lot of sets to choose from or you can order them individually. I’ve fallen in love with this Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set for 58.00 EUR – not bad for 8 piece set, huh?

The skincare: It’s never a wish list with skincare bit in it, right? Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster – available here – for $31.50 – Caroline inspired obviously.  I always want more and more skincare. This serum seems to be dreamy – or as they say miracle worker. Few drops before night cream and the next morning you have young glowy fresh skin. Who doesn’t want that?

What is in your wish list? Is there anything I have to improve in my wish list? Waiting for suggestions.

Hello July

Another month another Hello post. It’s so satisfying putting together the collage, picking out beauty, fashion and lifestyle bobs and bits. Sometimes I follow the color theme, but sometimes it’s just hit of a moment. Like today. Happy July everyone and let’s start.

Image

Makeup first? I’m always for fresh dewy skin no matter the season. And this summer it’s a trend that came back. So Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector in the shade 00 Rose Shimmer and KIKO Skin Glow Light Effect Day Cream come really handy – either mixed with foundation or as a primer – they give that glow from within. Glowy summer skin without a bronzer. Never. My recent addition to bronzer’s family is Jouer Mattifying Bronze Powder in Sunswept – it’s a really good product, it gives that bronze goddess appearance like you’ve just returned from beach holidays. The full review is coming soon. As for lips I’m always for something sheer, barely-there products, something like tinted lip balms or simple lip glosses. Recently I’m obsessed with this YSL Volupet Sheer Candy lipstick in the shade 2, which as I remember called Dewy Papaya – how summery this name is? This is sheer orange beautifulness. There is a blue eyshadow/liner trend going on this summer and I quite like it. Either as a slight smoked definition near the lash line or intense layer on waterline or as a crazy navy wing. Everything looks i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e. So in my stash I have something I can work with – KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 19 / Sephora eye Pencil in 18 Blue Jeans / Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Chaos (very bright – full review here).

Next nails. I love rocking out nude polishes during the summer, cause they enhance your tan and they look very smart and sophisticated. I have two options here: one is more yellow/white based – Zoya ‘Jacqueline’ and another is more grey/blush based – Zoya ‘Kennedy’. They look equally beautiful.

Skincare bits: Do you love face mists as much I do? The luxury one is Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist and the budget friendly one is Avene Thermal Spring Water – both very refreshing and cooling during the hot day.

Perfume time. My very old, back from school – Paco Rabanne Black XS – do you remember how popular it was back then? i love it then and I still do – it’s floral and fruity but in a spicy and sharp way. I’m on its last drops.

Lifestyle: Is not a summer without a new bikini, right? I’ve recently picked this Victoria’s Secret bikini – it’s the most amazing one I’ve ever had – so sparkly. I cannot NOT stare at it. So eye-catching and look very flattering, cover what’s need to be covered and reveals what’s need to be revealed. Pair of cheap colored sun glasses is a must – the ones you can take to the beach and not be worried about losing them or scratching.

What are your favorite bits for summer? Let’s inspire each other in the comments below!

WEEK HEROES #18

Well, I guess it’s time for another week heroes, I’m changing the formal slightly here, but nothing majorly, just expanding the variety – not just beauty products… something more spicy… think Viviannadoesmakeup Saturday post… adore those by the way!

Image

  1. I’ve rediscovered for the quad I own my all time favorite MAC eyeshadow, which is Patina. It’s browny-goldy shade, sheer but buildable at the dame time – so appropriate for daytime and can be smoked out for evening. And… especially good grunging up the look – Olsen sisters kind of look with heavy smoked lower lash line.
  2. Claire and Estee made me do this – two-shade manicure. I didn’t ave doubts with color like Claire did, I just wanted to pull off this kind of look – so I went with lilac-periwinkle theme. I LOVE IT. Since the colors are so different it doesn’t shows off massively but you still can see the difference.
  3. A must-watch video? Sure. Tamira’s video about contouring and highlighting. Loved your product selection, her honest opinion on whole KimK sculpting and etc. Easy yet interesting watch! Go see it see here!
  4. Let’s don’t forget about skincare, shall we? I’ve been obsessed with REN’s Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil. I’ve picked it up recently (see my Feelunique Haul) and I’m already loving it. It’s very liquidy oil packed my beneficial ingredients – omega 3, rose hip oil, camellia oil, bisabolol and vitamin E. Sometimes I mis it with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair or use it on its own. The next day my skin looks fresher and well-rested. Love it.
  5. Reading. I got back on that track. I ordered myself to read at least a chapter before bed. Don’t force yourself too much, just a little bit, but you will notice that the more you read the more you want to read. Currently I’m reading Saphirblau (Edelstein Trilogie, #2) by Kerstin Gier and if you want too see more of my book head here

What have you been loving lately? Did something from this post catch your attention?

Feelunique Haul

Well, I’ve been shopping and there is no surprise that there been some they-made-me-buy-it purchases. I’ve used some of my skincare and haircare products and was looking for some new staff to try out. Here is what I’ve came up with.

IMG_0916

  • John Frieda Volume Shampoo & Conditioner. Since Amelia has been raving about them A LOT and none minds a bit of extra volume in there hair I’ve decided to give it a go. Plus they are super affordable. Available here.
  • Since I just couldn’t buy ONE thing that Amelia is recommending, I also picked up the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser. After I’ve seen before and after pics I’ve decided to try it out and see for myself. I’ll keep you posted on that one – may be it will pop up in my monthly/weekly favorites!
  • I ran out of my beloved Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate (mentioned here) and decided to try something else. Similar oil based serum type of thing. I came across REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil 30ml – available here (and be careful, it seems to be out of stock pretty frequently) – seems to be quite a nice product and I do like REN range, so today planning a quick facial using it. Review will be coming – either good or … Hope it will be a good one. I have high hopes on them product.
  • Dry cuticle is my all-time problem. No matter how frequently and heavily I’m moisturizing them it’s no enough. Whyyyy….? That’s why I’ve picked this Badger Balm Mini Cuticle Care from Feelunique.com. Seems to be a miracle worker. Fingers crossed.

Have you tried any of those products? What have you purchased recently?

Hello June

Those are my favorite posts to write. Honestly. I dig through my stash with such an excitement – trying to pick the perfect products.

And I cannot believe is already June. Damn, the time flies so fast.

This month is slightly different – instead of just selecting certain products, I’ve decided to go with certain color theme. Who doesn’t love a good pinky-coral orange type of shade, right?

IMG_0093

Complexion: I do love a good blush and I rarely skip it in my everyday routine, so this month my picks are the following – MAC MineralizedSkinFinish in Stereo Rose – the recent repromoted product. When I first saw that MAC was bringing it back for a season I made a promise to finally pick it up. I’m glad I did. I love it – highlighting blush is the best. It saves time, it gives glow and it brightens the face. Another option is my all time favorite Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in the shade Tipsy. It’s long lasting – definitely the quality you’re looking for in the summer. And it gives such a healthy glow like you are literally blushing. LOVE IT.

Eyes: I have a lot to talk about here. Let’s start from the budget bits? Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold. The perfect shade of pink for eyes. It doesn’t make you look ill, but still gives a nice wash of color over the lids. Also love apply a bit of it as a blush – look incredibly flattering. MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters – everybody’s love – is there anything else to say? Perfect pinky champaigny shade. Another option is INGLOT‘s eyeshadow in 361M – it’s way more orange than the MAC one, but too brightly, I’d say it lies more in the pastel-ish family.

Nails: Zoya nail polish in Charisma – the brightest magenta I’ve ever seen – may be doesn’t apply perfectly to the pinky-coral category, but I just cannot NOT mention it. So bright, so beautiful and so unique. Essie in Cute As a Button – the perfect shade for summer – make your look tanner and looks more sophisticated then usual pink or orange. And last but not least are my oranges – the red orange one and the peach pastel – Rimmel Salon Pro Lycra in Hip Hop (let’s just have some time to appreciate the name, shall we?) and KIKO in 359 (this one looks incredibly on the toes as well and even better with some tan).

Lips: Let’s be honest here – I’m not a lip product girl, like AT ALL. I barely use my few lipsticks, I don’t have a lip liner, not even one, so the only products I use on my lips are either lip balms or lip glosses. But I do have a favorite ones. Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 02 – probably the most talked about lip product in the blogging community and there is a reason reasons for that. Non-stickey, hydrating, squeeze tube, foam applicator, not shimmery. I can go on and on. The next ones are Tanya Burr Cosmetics lip glosses – the recent launch of everyone’s favorite YouTuber Tanya. I went for non-shimmery ones and more neutral ones – Afternoon Tea and Chic. I have to say, I’m really tempted to try the bright red one and bright fuchsia one.

What are you pinky orange picks for the June?

Recent Loves

Taking into consideration my long absence I think it’s inevitable to talk about things I’ve been loving lately and I’m not just talking about beauty. Shall we start?

Recent Loves

  • Gonna start with the recent love. But I’m obsessed, literally. The blog, the voice, the instagram. Lipstickwithsomesunshine … know what I’m talking about? I love the way Tamira talks about products, I admire you selection of products and her videos – dreamy. Her last video – the Lip Product Addict Tag – I just couldn’t help myself staring at her nails, that grey-ish blue-ish Dior nail polish … I need that in my life.
  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (oil free version). I’ve always been a fan of light-weight bases, but now with +25C temperature weather it’s just a must. That’s when a good trusty TM comes really handy. Good coverage, buildable, applies wonderfully wither with a brush or using hands, sleek packaging. I’m wearing a shade Bisque, which is now OK, but with a tan will come a new tube I suppose.
  • Nars Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. Even though I have dry-ish skin, my eye leads are pretty oily. And being a huge eyeshadow wearer, this is just a must for me, especially in the summer. This staff is just awesome. Your eyeshadows will stay in place as long as you need them to. The eyeshadows will look more vibrant, they won’t budge and you need just the tiniest bit, so it’s an investment. Highly recommend.
  • Can I have a moment and talk about shoes? My New Balance sneakers. My beloved 373. I love them – thy goes with anything – shorts, jeans, even some skirts and dresses. I went for quite natural shade – blue. I won’t interfere with colorful clothes and may compliment other shades. And we all wear denim, right?
  • Book time? Of course. DIVERGENT. I’m converted. I’ve devoured both books in two days and now I’m on my third one. It’s adventurous, it’s tense and it’s addicting. The movie. YES! The book is better, but for Theo James I can forgive them everything. For sure they had to fit in the movie a LOT, they did great. Straight after the movie I’ve downloaded the soundtracks – they are actually VERY GOOD for working out. *hint hint*

Hope you’ve enjoyed my little catching-up list. And I’ve REALLY enjoyed being back and typing out that post. Good to be back.

Light packing – tips and tricks

Third post of my ‘Travel With Me’ series! Hope you enjoy them, cause I have so much fun planning those posts and I put a real effort writing them and snapping interesting pictures.

IMG_9585

Being a constant overpacked it is really a challenge for me to pack only necessary things – the ones I actually going to use and not just bring on holidays and then bring back home without even touching them. So I’ve accumulated several tips and trick for healthy beauty packing.

  1. Depotting and decanning. Don’t pack massive bottles of foundations / primers / moisturizers / face masks. Little pots are you best friends during holidays. Roughly estimate the amount of each you may need and leave those heavy bulky bottles at home (especially glass ones – heavy and impractical)
  2. Mutli-purpose items. Try to find things that can do several jobs – lip and cheek tints, cream eyeshadows for lids and highlighting purposes, oils good for face, hands and body, brushes that allows you to do your whole face makeup – foundation / blush / bronzer
  3. Palettes. if you have palettes with eye colors / blushes / eye pencils / bronzers – this is what you have to take. Don’t pack a full amount of individual bits – you are not going to use them anyway (we all been there, right?). Even if it does an eye palette it’s better then single eyeshadow for different looks, eyeshadows for brows and inner conner highlight, I’m I right? Hope so. Oh simple use some sort of Z-palettes or Unii-palettes.
  4. Skip some steps. For example some fancy hair treatments / masks – can you just live one week with out them? Probably you can with out even noticing it. Give youself a break. No heating tools -> no heat protectants. You see? The luggage is getting smaller and lighter.
  5. And finally – samples. You know those shopping days when you got a lot of samples and you never end up even looking through them? Well anyway I do that. I have a small box where I store ALL my samples, so when I go on holidays this comes really handy. I have everything I need there – night creams, some serums, shampoos, conditioners, nail polish removing pads, masks…All you will ever need. Just give it a good=deep dig. This is also brings the topic of travel-sized beauty. Pretty much self-explanatory, right?

IMG_9572

Some product recommendations: Coconut Oil for hands, feet, face, hair, cuticle. MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study as eyeshadow base, highlighter, eyeshadow, inner corner pop. NARS duo in Laguna / Orgasm – 2 in 1. MAC palette – eyelid colors + brow shade. Empty pots from Essence, KIKO, Body Shop. Real Techniques Multi-task brush – blush / bronzer / powder buddy.

What are your tips on easy and light packing? Help me out even more! If you have any questions – do not hesitate asking them, I’d love some feedback!

Sweebounty Is Going On Vacation

February is going to start for me very pleasantly. I’m going away to Andorra with my friends snowboarding and skiing. I haven’t been abroad during winter for a long time so I’m very very excited. From Monday till Saturday there will be travel related posts  a.k.a ‘Travel With Me’ installment – that’s gonna help me pack and you in future – tips and trick are making an appearance for sure!

First post on the menu is MAKEUP BAG COLLECTION. How more related to traveling can it be? I cannot resist buying them – some of them are more practical than others, some looks nicer, some have cool pattern or signs on them, some are just easy to wash – you know – some many options… :)

IMG_9534

KIKO Beauty Twin Set – available here – £8.90. The set comes with two different-sized pouches. Being colorful (available also in black, lime and magenta) they are still transparent enough to be able to recognize the bits inside. I use small for makeup brushes and some beauty tools (eyelash curlers, cotton pads, tweezers) and bigger one for actual makeup. Matching cases look so interesting and sleek and my red option makes it vibrant a.k.a easy-spotted in the suitcase among other staff.

Victoria’s Secret Small Cosmetic Bag – that classic VS pattern – iconic bright and baby pink stripes. Though it looks pretty small it’s actually very roomy. It’s possible to fit quite a lot of products. I also use it on a regular basis – most of my handbags will fit it.

Allure ‘Give Me a Kiss’ Makeup Bag – present with purchase. This came with Allure magazine (cannot remember the issue #) and it is so eye-catching. The kisses are different colors which makes it so adorable. It’s again roomy enough to pack it with beauty bits so travel friendly again.

Victoria’s Secret Travel Hanging Cosmetic Bag – long-distance cosmetics bag. It has 4 zip compartments and one attachable zip pouch. So comfortable to organize makeup, skincare, brushes. Transparent compartments make it easy to look for things, easy to clean in case of spilling drama. Holds a lot of things, don’t worry, anything will fit.

How do you travel: light or overpacking (me!) ? What makeup case is your favorite?
