If you ask me – purple is my favorite color and whenever I see something of that color I instantly want to buy that. No matter how much I have. And when it comes to nail polishes this is where two of my passions meet. I love wearing purple – in summer I prefer brights and during the colder months I go for darker and deeper shades. I’ve prepared a nice variety for you – let’s have a look.
A girl can never have enough red nail polishes, right? Whenever I don’t know which polish to wear I always go for red. It instantly makes me feel more secure and more chic. I don’t know what it about… it’s so sexy and elegant on the nails and it matches every outfit.
You cannot be a beauty blogger if you are not shopping on a regular basis, right?
I love shopping and especially in beauty departments – pretty much everyday I go into drugstore just to have a look – what’s new, which products are back in stock and just to browse around and play with bits.
Recently I went into the shop and couldn’t left with nothing – just too much tempting babies.
I have a ton of nail polishes and blue shade seems to make quite an appearance though it isn’t even my favorite color, how possible is that?
Summer is waving a goodbye but I’m not ready to let it go yet, I’m planning to extend that summer vibe for as long as I can. How does blue nail polish on tan hands scream summer? For me it’s 100% summer.
I have more blues than that, but for today’s selection this is enough.
It isn’t always a case that a nail polish gets a separate post, but today’s hero deserve it. Amazing color, drugstore price, long-lasting formula, comfy brush – your hands and toes are just begging you in the store to take this baby home.
So… today’s hero is KIKO #278 (bought here) – it’s a pure galaxy – black passed violet with micro glitter of every possible color: blue, red, orange, silver, green… I don’t know, my eyes betray me here. I nothing nothing, but the sparking party.
I have nothing like this is my collection, this is so unique and beautiful and I’m glad I’ve picked this up.
To remove I used an ordinary nail polish remover, it did require more effort than removing cream nail polish, but still nothing too major (just an extra 5 minute song and few more cotton rounds).
I kept on looking at my nails the whole time and I got so many compliments and question about this polish like where what shade – you know the deal.
Have you tried some polishes from KIKO? Do you have some color suggestions I have to buy? Pop them in the comments!
When it comes to nail art I’m not very capable – yes, I can pull of some easy-peasy design, but nothing crazy or damn original – and I wish I could. I find it looks so interesting and sophisticated having on your nails something patterned. So those nail wraps come so handy. I know I’m late for this party, but better late then never, right?
Incoco nail wraps – available here – for $8.99 per pack. They have tons of patterns and color, even french manicure tips, some pedicure wraps – amazing. I went for Mood Swing – hot pink with black splatter.
The application is easy – no need for base coat or top coat, you just remove the clear cover, remover the nail polish strip, pick an end and size to suit you nail bed and apply on the nail stretching it a little bit (not too much, cause you might break it). Then the only thing left to do is file off the excess and you are good to go. No mass no fuss.
Make sure you press them firmly on the edges, cause if not they may stick out and it’s not an attractive look (trust me, I’ve been there…). As for staying power they are very very promising. The company claims for 14 days, haven’t checked that, but good 7 days…yes! This is a perfect option for holidays, where you won’t have time repainting your nails or no intension.
As for removal – just simple nail polish remover will do just fine, no super harsh rubbing is involved.
Are you fond of nail wraps? Do you have a favorite brand, cause I think I do now!
When Bella and I decided to do a collar post we knew we wanted it to be a summer inspired and what can be more summery than some product recommendations? After done with reading my post go over to Bella’s blog.
As far as makeup goes is pretty obvious, right? Self-taner, bright eyeliner and tinted lip balm. This summer purple is in trend right now which I couldn’t been more pumped about since it’s my favorite color. For that I can rely on my new-ish MAC Designer Purple eyeliner – full review here. Bright, sparkling purple goddess. Nothing else to say. Summer is time for minis – shorts, skirts and for glowy healthy wash of color I love to use Caudalie Divine Legs – it bronzy shimmery lotion that you apply onto you legs (and arms as I do) and you forget about pale veiny skin for the day. In the evening you just rinse it off and you are pale again – sad.. but tomorrow is the the day, right? *wink-wink*. And to protect your lips but still give a slight tint – love my little pot – Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine. It nourishes the lips, gives them the wet finish with pink hue (in a good way of course).
The more interesting part – nails. Here things are getting more interesting and experimenting. Liquid sand, neon and trend color. As for liquid sand I go for OPI – Can’t Let Go shade was part of the Mariah Carey collection. It dries very quickly, lasts on the nails pretty long and sparkles on the sunshine. As for neon I love Orly Glowstick shade – it’s very acid yellow, the brightest you can imagine. I’d recommend using a white polish base to make it more opaque and easier to apply (neons can be tricky). For trend color I’ve chose blue shade. Bright cobalt aqua blue – Essie in Strut Your Staff nail polish. It’s part of the new summer collection and I could not not pick it up.
I loved doing this collar – if some of you have any other ideas for my posts or you want to do a collar with me, I’d be happy to participate!
All orange-lovers out there, our time has come – seems like orange is coming back. I’ve started to notice orange popping up here and there – clothes, makeup, bags, nails…фSo went through my collection and apparently I’m all set for this season – no need to spend extra money – yay.
So, nails… today’s selection is shade and brand varied – from pale to dark, from very cheap to higher priced.
The true orange – OPI in Atomic Orange. The most typical orange color – tangerine one. It looks pretty simple in the bottle, but once you put it on you see the trick. Every time I force myself to paint my nails with it, but I never regret at the end. Opaque, incredibly flattering, relatively fast drying, long wearing-ish (4-5 days).
The pastel peach – KIKO nail lacquer #359. I’ve mention this one already in my ‘Hello June’ post but I cannot pass on that one when it comes to orange shades. It’s a perfect pastel pale peach – no hint of pink, no hint of yellow, just perfection. Looks incredible on both pale and tan skin.
The coral – Essie from Resort 2013 Collection in Come here! May be not the most appropriate orange but my heart screams to feather it and my camera begs me to take picture of it. I have a mini bottle (from their mini cube) and actually this Resort collection was one of the best so far. This is a good all rounder coral – a hint of neon so very eye catching.
The brightest – Essence Colour&Go in #145 Flashy Pumpkin – the most bright and out there color of the bunch. It literally screams. As for the color it’s as a name suggests warm pumpkin shade. And it’s very very affordable.
The red-ish – Rimmel Salon Pro in Hip Hop – is it red? is it orange? Hybrid. The beautiful Anna first wore it on the nails and it look incredible. And every time in the video when she wore it, it made me repaint me nails with it – even now typing out this post I’m honestly wearing that polish. It dries very glossy and very fast. And the name… HipHop.
Here on that picture you can clearly see the shade difference. What is your favorite orange/coral nail shade?
