Let’s talk skincare.

Today I want to make a quick review I’ve meaning to do for a while. I’ve picked that up several months now and I’ve been using it a lot on and off BUT I’m nearly finished and what’s a better time to review a skincare item then once you can see a bottom?

IMG_2755So… REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Oil – it’s very often out of stock on FeelUnique site and for me it’s a good sign. The product must be good if people are emptying the stock, right?

TOP 5 For Autumn

Those kind of posts keep popping up here and there and it got me thinking – if I need to pick top 5 what would they be?

Autumn is a hard time for skin in general – it’s hard to get used to colder weather and not to forget to use more heavy duty staff. The fluids should be substituted by rich creams, some tinted moisturizers by more covering bases to get more protection from cold and pollution. Hands and nails also start lacking some moisture. So what I pull out during fall?

Haul #5

You cannot be a beauty blogger if you are not shopping on a regular basis, right?

I love shopping and especially in beauty departments – pretty much everyday I go into drugstore just to have a look – what’s new, which products are back in stock and just to browse around and play with bits.

Recently I went into the shop and couldn’t left with nothing – just too much tempting babies.

Currently: Skincare

When I was on holidays I barely wore makeup (as I intended to) so I barely packed any skincare. The air isn’t that polluted like in the big cities, the food is light is mostly fruits, the SPF is applied, so I don’t need to do heavy duty routine. And everything was fine – my skin never look, minimum redness, no breakouts, no dry patches. My skin was happy and I was even happier.

But once I’ve returned to big city and that time of the month came I’ve stared to notice the difference in my skin and not the good one. The area that gets most effected during that time is my forehead.I don’t know what does that mean and I don’t’ believe all those online charts, I think everything is individual. Wow, I’m getting distracted here. Back to the topic.

What I’ve been loving at the moment?

I went back to my favorite Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate…(available here).  I forgot how much I love it. It’s something in between the serum and an oil. I’ve already reviewed it on my blog here and my option hasn’t changed. I love it. I won’t say it’s a miracle product and the next morning your wake up with a new skin, but you can definitely see some improvements. The overall skin condition is better. The forehead for sure looks better.

Other bad skin best friend is Pure Tea Tree Oil – I bought mine in a simple pharmacy even asked for the cheapest one, cause they are all the same basically. One can be picked up from FeelUnique here. The tea tree is a natural antiseptic, it contains natural antibacterial properties so dries out any pimples and nasty breakouts. I soak a cotton bud into the oil and apply directly onto the spot overnight. The next morning the pimple is smaller, less red and depends on the size it gets smaller. I’m happy.

And for healing dry random patches on the face and hands and legs (you know when the tan comes off what you get…? Yes, that’s what I’m talking about) I’ve been using Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream (available here) – the magical cream everyone’s taking about. There are people who hate the smell (too medical and herbally for them) but actually really really enjoy it, am I crazy? I like when skincare smells like nature and isn’t overloaded with perfume and artificial scents. It’s a very thick cream that contains lanolin, vitamin E, salicylic asid, castor seed oil and many others. It soothers the skin, protects it and even gently exfoliate the skin.

Do you have any post-holiday skincare big-guns? Pop them in the comments below.

Another Day Another Haul

When I finished my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm I knew then and there the cleanser I want to try next – Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. A lot of people have been raving about it and with hot months it’s harder to use something that balmy and oily as EH one.

I’ve recently discovered the website Naturisimo and felt in love with it.

They sell natural and organic products – have some interesting brands as GlamGlow, Oskia, Antipodes, Bare Minerals, Caudalie, Butter London, Jurlique, Zoya, This Works and etc. The New and Offers sections are very interesting to browse – once in a while they have some really good deals. But the most exciting section is Samples. There are so many cult products’ samples to choose from. How many times we scare to invest in something we haven’t tried before? Well… now our problems are sold. There are makeup, serums, eye creams, moisturizers – everything you might wish. I’ve picked Oskia eye cream, Nourish Argan crem and Caudalie SOS serum (which I’ve dying to try)… and night cream (which I’ve lost… so sad) There are some free samples, some are a little pricier than others but you’ll get a deluxe sized one. Now a few words about a cleanser …IMG_2034

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel – £28.00 – available here. I use it as my main cleanser after taking the makeup off with Bioderma. It’s a peach pink gel that your message onto you skin then wet your hands and message further until it becomes a milky texture. Grab a cloth and wipe it away.

Based on description is seems to be a miracle cleanser! The ingredients are phenomenal – Free from artificial fragrance, alpha hydroxy acid and glycolic acid, Vitamins A, C & E, Omega 6, Starflower Oil, Pumpkin Enzymes, Chamomile and Rose.

I’ve been using it for a little bit but further thoughts will appear in a separate post since it’s too early to judge about skincare product.

Have you tried this cleanser or do you have another recommendations?

When new season comes we are always up for changes – clothes, jobs, places and of course makeup. There are so many new launches and oldy-but-goody things I have yet to try, so I think it’s more than appropriate time for another ‘WISHLIST’ post. Maybe some of you have already tried something I want, some of you can take a little inspiration for upcoming Bdays or any other special occasion. So what do I have here…?

The new-launch: Shu Uemura Fall 2014 Vision of Beauty rocks. When I first saw this picture on BritishBeautyBlogger I was wowed. The colors, the packaging and especially that eyeshadow palette..divine. There are actually 2 upcoming palettes – head over to BBB to see the rest.

The fashion: When summer comes I’m always on a hunt for a new cross body mini bag. I’ve seen a lot of pastel blue popping out here and there and I’ve decided I want something of that color. Then I’ve spotted this Bleecker Triple Zip Crossbody by Coach – available here – $178. It’s not cheap, but I now I will get a lot of use out of this and it will last m a long time. BUT they aren’t shipping to my country, so I need to find a way to get it.

The tools: Zoeva is another thing that keep getting more and more popular among beautybloggers and fashionbloggers. They seem to be good quality and they are affordable. The have a lot of sets to choose from or you can order them individually. I’ve fallen in love with this Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set for 58.00 EUR – not bad for 8 piece set, huh?

The skincare: It’s never a wish list with skincare bit in it, right? Ole Henriksen Truth Serum Collagen Booster – available here – for $31.50 – Caroline inspired obviously.  I always want more and more skincare. This serum seems to be dreamy – or as they say miracle worker. Few drops before night cream and the next morning you have young glowy fresh skin. Who doesn’t want that?

What is in your wish list? Is there anything I have to improve in my wish list? Waiting for suggestions.

Hello July

Another month another Hello post. It’s so satisfying putting together the collage, picking out beauty, fashion and lifestyle bobs and bits. Sometimes I follow the color theme, but sometimes it’s just hit of a moment. Like today. Happy July everyone and let’s start.

Makeup first? I’m always for fresh dewy skin no matter the season. And this summer it’s a trend that came back. So Clarins Instant Light Complexion Perfector in the shade 00 Rose Shimmer and KIKO Skin Glow Light Effect Day Cream come really handy – either mixed with foundation or as a primer – they give that glow from within. Glowy summer skin without a bronzer. Never. My recent addition to bronzer’s family is Jouer Mattifying Bronze Powder in Sunswept – it’s a really good product, it gives that bronze goddess appearance like you’ve just returned from beach holidays. The full review is coming soon. As for lips I’m always for something sheer, barely-there products, something like tinted lip balms or simple lip glosses. Recently I’m obsessed with this YSL Volupet Sheer Candy lipstick in the shade 2, which as I remember called Dewy Papaya – how summery this name is? This is sheer orange beautifulness. There is a blue eyshadow/liner trend going on this summer and I quite like it. Either as a slight smoked definition near the lash line or intense layer on waterline or as a crazy navy wing. Everything looks i-n-c-r-e-d-i-b-l-e. So in my stash I have something I can work with – KIKO Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 19 / Sephora eye Pencil in 18 Blue Jeans / Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Chaos (very bright – full review here).

Next nails. I love rocking out nude polishes during the summer, cause they enhance your tan and they look very smart and sophisticated. I have two options here: one is more yellow/white based – Zoya ‘Jacqueline’ and another is more grey/blush based – Zoya ‘Kennedy’. They look equally beautiful.

Skincare bits: Do you love face mists as much I do? The luxury one is Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist and the budget friendly one is Avene Thermal Spring Water – both very refreshing and cooling during the hot day.

Perfume time. My very old, back from school – Paco Rabanne Black XS – do you remember how popular it was back then? i love it then and I still do – it’s floral and fruity but in a spicy and sharp way. I’m on its last drops.

Lifestyle: Is not a summer without a new bikini, right? I’ve recently picked this Victoria’s Secret bikini – it’s the most amazing one I’ve ever had – so sparkly. I cannot NOT stare at it. So eye-catching and look very flattering, cover what’s need to be covered and reveals what’s need to be revealed. Pair of cheap colored sun glasses is a must – the ones you can take to the beach and not be worried about losing them or scratching.

What are your favorite bits for summer? Let’s inspire each other in the comments below!

Well, I guess it’s time for another week heroes, I’m changing the formal slightly here, but nothing majorly, just expanding the variety – not just beauty products… something more spicy… think Viviannadoesmakeup Saturday post… adore those by the way!

  1. I’ve rediscovered for the quad I own my all time favorite MAC eyeshadow, which is Patina. It’s browny-goldy shade, sheer but buildable at the dame time – so appropriate for daytime and can be smoked out for evening. And… especially good grunging up the look – Olsen sisters kind of look with heavy smoked lower lash line.
  2. Claire and Estee made me do this – two-shade manicure. I didn’t ave doubts with color like Claire did, I just wanted to pull off this kind of look – so I went with lilac-periwinkle theme. I LOVE IT. Since the colors are so different it doesn’t shows off massively but you still can see the difference.
  3. A must-watch video? Sure. Tamira’s video about contouring and highlighting. Loved your product selection, her honest opinion on whole KimK sculpting and etc. Easy yet interesting watch! Go see it see here!
  4. Let’s don’t forget about skincare, shall we? I’ve been obsessed with REN’s Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil. I’ve picked it up recently (see my Feelunique Haul) and I’m already loving it. It’s very liquidy oil packed my beneficial ingredients – omega 3, rose hip oil, camellia oil, bisabolol and vitamin E. Sometimes I mis it with Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair or use it on its own. The next day my skin looks fresher and well-rested. Love it.
  5. Reading. I got back on that track. I ordered myself to read at least a chapter before bed. Don’t force yourself too much, just a little bit, but you will notice that the more you read the more you want to read. Currently I’m reading Saphirblau (Edelstein Trilogie, #2) by Kerstin Gier and if you want too see more of my book head here

What have you been loving lately? Did something from this post catch your attention?

Feelunique Haul

Well, I’ve been shopping and there is no surprise that there been some they-made-me-buy-it purchases. I’ve used some of my skincare and haircare products and was looking for some new staff to try out. Here is what I’ve came up with.

  • John Frieda Volume Shampoo & Conditioner. Since Amelia has been raving about them A LOT and none minds a bit of extra volume in there hair I’ve decided to give it a go. Plus they are super affordable. Available here.
  • Since I just couldn’t buy ONE thing that Amelia is recommending, I also picked up the John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Liquid Shine Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser. After I’ve seen before and after pics I’ve decided to try it out and see for myself. I’ll keep you posted on that one – may be it will pop up in my monthly/weekly favorites!
  • I ran out of my beloved Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate (mentioned here) and decided to try something else. Similar oil based serum type of thing. I came across REN Vita Mineral Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum Oil 30ml – available here (and be careful, it seems to be out of stock pretty frequently) – seems to be quite a nice product and I do like REN range, so today planning a quick facial using it. Review will be coming – either good or … Hope it will be a good one. I have high hopes on them product.
  • Dry cuticle is my all-time problem. No matter how frequently and heavily I’m moisturizing them it’s no enough. Whyyyy….? That’s why I’ve picked this Badger Balm Mini Cuticle Care from Seems to be a miracle worker. Fingers crossed.

Have you tried any of those products? What have you purchased recently?

TravelWithMe: Makeup&Skincare

Last post (unfortunately) in my TravelWithMe series – what I actually gonna take with. You think: yes, yes, it’s easy to speak about light packing, but when it comes to real business – this is where you get stuck! I also struggle with that, you are not alone, don’t panic.

Wanna see what I take to keep me company makeup and skincare wise? Let’s see.

I’ve deppotted a bit of MAC Face and Body foundation to KIKO container, for under eye circles – Maybelline Lumi Touch Highlightning Pen in Light and for some blemishes space-saving Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer.

For complexion job I packed Clarins Instant Light Complexion Corrector in 03 Rose (it’s quite small and sleek tube), my Nars Duo with Laguna and Orgasm (bronzer and blush – check) and for actual highlighter my new obsession – theBalm Lou-manizer (the review is coming soon!).

For eyes I’m taking my Urban Decay mini Primer Portion to prevent creasing and for actual fun part a.k.a colors I’m taking my MAC palette (Coquette for brows, Club, All that Glitters and …) and some eye crayons – KIKO in 04 and 05. Hope that’s enough! And mascara of course – Maybelline the Rocket, of course.

For lips I’m taking only my NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm and Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 02 Apricot Shimmer. I think I’m picking some more in DutyFree.  I just love them.

For makeup removing I’m taking my mini bottle of Bioderma. Good staff. For actual cleansing I’m taking my newest addition – Elemental Herbology Purify & Soothe Facial Cleansing Balm. Should I do a separate review on that? For toning I’m taking my Clarins Toning Lotion with Camomile (just need to find a smaller bottle for that) for serum – Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and for moisturizer – Jojoba oil, which is also my body lotion, hand cream and cuticle treatment… oh and a hair treatment.

Tangle Teezer Original, some random tweezers (neon yellow – yay!), Real Techinques Buffing Brush and Multi-Task one, MAC 217, 239 and 219 and Clare’s pinky angled for eyebrows.

And I’m done!

Hope those series were very helpful and did help you about a bit. If so, I’m very happy – I’m doing something important :)

By the time the nest post do up I’ll be on holidays! xoxo
