Recently I went traveling with my family to Rome. It’s an incredible city – history in every breath and step. The monuments, the food, the ice-cream, the weather, the hotel – everything was incredible. I miss it already. Here are some photos I’d like to share with you. Hope you enjoy! And if you ever have chance I definitely recommend you visiting this beautiful city.

What’s In My Travel Bag

TravelWithMe: Makeup&Skincare

Last post (unfortunately) in my TravelWithMe series – what I actually gonna take with. You think: yes, yes, it’s easy to speak about light packing, but when it comes to real business – this is where you get stuck! I also struggle with that, you are not alone, don’t panic.

Wanna see what I take to keep me company makeup and skincare wise? Let’s see.

MakeUp:

I’ve deppotted a bit of MAC Face and Body foundation to KIKO container, for under eye circles – Maybelline Lumi Touch Highlightning Pen in Light and for some blemishes space-saving Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer.

For complexion job I packed Clarins Instant Light Complexion Corrector in 03 Rose (it’s quite small and sleek tube), my Nars Duo with Laguna and Orgasm (bronzer and blush – check) and for actual highlighter my new obsession – theBalm Lou-manizer (the review is coming soon!).

For eyes I’m taking my Urban Decay mini Primer Portion to prevent creasing and for actual fun part a.k.a colors I’m taking my MAC palette (Coquette for brows, Club, All that Glitters and …) and some eye crayons – KIKO in 04 and 05. Hope that’s enough! And mascara of course – Maybelline the Rocket, of course.

For lips I’m taking only my NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm and Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 02 Apricot Shimmer. I think I’m picking some more in DutyFree.  I just love them.

SkinCare:

For makeup removing I’m taking my mini bottle of Bioderma. Good staff. For actual cleansing I’m taking my newest addition – Elemental Herbology Purify & Soothe Facial Cleansing Balm. Should I do a separate review on that? For toning I’m taking my Clarins Toning Lotion with Camomile (just need to find a smaller bottle for that) for serum – Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and for moisturizer – Jojoba oil, which is also my body lotion, hand cream and cuticle treatment… oh and a hair treatment.

Tools:

Tangle Teezer Original, some random tweezers (neon yellow – yay!), Real Techinques Buffing Brush and Multi-Task one, MAC 217, 239 and 219 and Clare’s pinky angled for eyebrows.

And I’m done!

Hope those series were very helpful and did help you about a bit. If so, I’m very happy – I’m doing something important :)

By the time the nest post do up I’ll be on holidays! xoxo

TravelWithMe: Travel Essentials

The TravelWithMe series aren’t complete with out a post about travel essentials. I didn’t want it to be just beauty related (there are tons of those anyways) – I wanted to include some random bobs and pieces, something that not every one remember about while packing. But they will come very handy, I promise you.

IMG_9590

Caudalie Beauty Elixir. So many people talk about it – half by half have love / hate relationship with this staff. I belong to love part. Cooling, refreshing, awakening mist that help to hydrate the skin during the flight – we know that we get pretty dehydrated, so this is my best friends on board.

NUXE Reve de Miel. This is by far my favorite lip balm. Even putting it overnight I can feel it in the morning. Love it, always carry it with me and plane is not an exception.

Bath and Body Works PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel. I never travel with out a hand sanitizer – no matter what brand / scent it has, I just have to have one – I’m a bit lot paranoid about it.

My DIY cuticle oil – couple of days ago I refreshed my treasured bottle. Old Nubar bottle with a pipette – very easy to use, very hydrating, very cheap. Recipe here.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O – Micelle Solution – if I don’t have an early-morning flight, I might have some makeup on my face (tinted moisturizer, a light coat of mascara, wash of eyeshadow, a bit of blush and highlighter), but when I get on the plain I like to get rid of it to travel light.

Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve – this is my all-time favorite hand cream. I raved about it here. If you are on a hunt for a new one I definitely recommend this one!

Compeed Anti-blister Stick – I never travel with out this staff. It’s a liquid plaster. Literally. You don’t need a plaster at all – you spread it over sore area and no rubbing what so ever.

Sephora Silver Universal Atomizer – it is basically a Travalo (I want not btw). I have traveling with huge glass bottle – it’s just better and easier to pour some into atomizer and use on the go. I actually store it in my handbag all the time.

ThisWorks Deep Sleep Stress Less mini. Fragranced oil that calms, relaxes. You put a bit in you wrist, rub it between and it feels like you are in SPA and doing some fancy treatments.

My iPhone – you just need your phone – Instagram, Twitter, some blogs to catch up on, Whatsapp, music, maybe episode or 2 of Vampire Diaries or SATC… yes, cannot wait till going on vacation. Also have my SONY pink headphones – nothing else to say about them, I’m not picky about headphones at all. My choice is always based on appearance. And in order you phone (or any other device for that matter) didn’t die in the middle of the song or movie you just have to have some extra battery for that. My option is – MIPOW Power Tube 2200 portable charger in purple. And let’s pretend I didn’t pick it up just for my favorite color. And there are bunch of colors to choose from and comes with a full pack of adapters for every gadget out there. Gives 4-6 hours of using. Sold to me.

And of course some reading bits. I have a full blog post on that here.

What are your in-flight essentials? Am I missing something?

Light packing – tips and tricks

Third post of my ‘Travel With Me’ series! Hope you enjoy them, cause I have so much fun planning those posts and I put a real effort writing them and snapping interesting pictures.

IMG_9585

Being a constant overpacked it is really a challenge for me to pack only necessary things – the ones I actually going to use and not just bring on holidays and then bring back home without even touching them. So I’ve accumulated several tips and trick for healthy beauty packing.

  1. Depotting and decanning. Don’t pack massive bottles of foundations / primers / moisturizers / face masks. Little pots are you best friends during holidays. Roughly estimate the amount of each you may need and leave those heavy bulky bottles at home (especially glass ones – heavy and impractical)
  2. Mutli-purpose items. Try to find things that can do several jobs – lip and cheek tints, cream eyeshadows for lids and highlighting purposes, oils good for face, hands and body, brushes that allows you to do your whole face makeup – foundation / blush / bronzer
  3. Palettes. if you have palettes with eye colors / blushes / eye pencils / bronzers – this is what you have to take. Don’t pack a full amount of individual bits – you are not going to use them anyway (we all been there, right?). Even if it does an eye palette it’s better then single eyeshadow for different looks, eyeshadows for brows and inner conner highlight, I’m I right? Hope so. Oh simple use some sort of Z-palettes or Unii-palettes.
  4. Skip some steps. For example some fancy hair treatments / masks – can you just live one week with out them? Probably you can with out even noticing it. Give youself a break. No heating tools -> no heat protectants. You see? The luggage is getting smaller and lighter.
  5. And finally – samples. You know those shopping days when you got a lot of samples and you never end up even looking through them? Well anyway I do that. I have a small box where I store ALL my samples, so when I go on holidays this comes really handy. I have everything I need there – night creams, some serums, shampoos, conditioners, nail polish removing pads, masks…All you will ever need. Just give it a good=deep dig. This is also brings the topic of travel-sized beauty. Pretty much self-explanatory, right?

Some product recommendations: Coconut Oil for hands, feet, face, hair, cuticle. MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study as eyeshadow base, highlighter, eyeshadow, inner corner pop. NARS duo in Laguna / Orgasm – 2 in 1. MAC palette – eyelid colors + brow shade. Empty pots from Essence, KIKO, Body Shop. Real Techniques Multi-task brush – blush / bronzer / powder buddy.

TWM: Reading Bits

TravelWithMe series are continuing with another post … yay!

I love reading, you can probably tell that, since on my front page I have a Goodreads Widget, that I constantly update you can see what I currently read. So whenever I go somewhere I make sure I bring something to entertain me during flights or long-term train / bus journeys.

Side-note: I don’t read in the car – it makes me feel sick in a second, even reading a small email or trying to reply on them can harm me.

IMG_9479

I usually pack something light – magazine and something more serious – the actual book. I’ve been book shopping recently so I have few options now and I haven’t decided so far. Seems like I going the grab one just before rushing through the door. Blindly. Not to offend the others.

The magazine choice is very obvious – Allure magazine. Probably by the time I leave I’ll get the newer addition, but for now I OK with that one – still some articles to dig in and some wish lists to expand.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky – seems like everyone has already read it, re-read it and fall massively in love. Apparently it’s my turn now. Have read a word yet, but I can write a post about it if someone is interested on it, whether I like it or not, may be include some of my favorite quotes. Pop your thoughts in the comment section below, please.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green – another raving about book. The great review and the cover (just look at it? Those stars, seems like they are sparkling…) sold the book to me. I just couldn’t pass it when I saw it in the store. I was so tempted to start reading it in the underground but decided to save it till holidays.

What are reading at the moment? Have you read one of my picks? Let me know in the down bar!

Sweebounty Is Going On Vacation

February is going to start for me very pleasantly. I’m going away to Andorra with my friends snowboarding and skiing. I haven’t been abroad during winter for a long time so I’m very very excited. From Monday till Saturday there will be travel related posts  a.k.a ‘Travel With Me’ installment – that’s gonna help me pack and you in future – tips and trick are making an appearance for sure!

First post on the menu is MAKEUP BAG COLLECTION. How more related to traveling can it be? I cannot resist buying them – some of them are more practical than others, some looks nicer, some have cool pattern or signs on them, some are just easy to wash – you know – some many options… :)

IMG_9534

KIKO Beauty Twin Set – available here – £8.90. The set comes with two different-sized pouches. Being colorful (available also in black, lime and magenta) they are still transparent enough to be able to recognize the bits inside. I use small for makeup brushes and some beauty tools (eyelash curlers, cotton pads, tweezers) and bigger one for actual makeup. Matching cases look so interesting and sleek and my red option makes it vibrant a.k.a easy-spotted in the suitcase among other staff.

Victoria’s Secret Small Cosmetic Bag – that classic VS pattern – iconic bright and baby pink stripes. Though it looks pretty small it’s actually very roomy. It’s possible to fit quite a lot of products. I also use it on a regular basis – most of my handbags will fit it.

Allure ‘Give Me a Kiss’ Makeup Bag – present with purchase. This came with Allure magazine (cannot remember the issue #) and it is so eye-catching. The kisses are different colors which makes it so adorable. It’s again roomy enough to pack it with beauty bits so travel friendly again.

Victoria’s Secret Travel Hanging Cosmetic Bag – long-distance cosmetics bag. It has 4 zip compartments and one attachable zip pouch. So comfortable to organize makeup, skincare, brushes. Transparent compartments make it easy to look for things, easy to clean in case of spilling drama. Holds a lot of things, don’t worry, anything will fit.

How do you travel: light or overpacking (me!) ? What makeup case is your favorite?

Dear Santa…

Dear Santa, I’ve been a very good girl this year – I’ve blogged every single day for past few months, I’m progressing with my Spanish classes, I’m developing my dreams and truly looking for my future occupation / passion. I really want to achieve a lot in the up-coming year and hope I deserve a huge little treat these holidays.

Well, if everything was that easy – you ask for it and you get it. Nein. You have to work hard to get something it your life. No one gets everything for free – there is always a price to pay.

Okay, wanna see what I would like to get this year? Here you have it.

A little bit of everything – makeup, stationery, jewelry, DVDs, traveling staff, books, watches – every but the soul can dream about…

Image

1. World Atlas of Wine – who doesn’t want & wouldn’t like a good book about wine? From A to Z – if you want to get into wine (like I do) this is a nice step to start.

2. Sex and the City – full series. I don’t know a girl who hasn’t watches SATC. I’ve watched it. Couple of times.. Every season. Love every episode and every quote. Will re-watch again and again.

3. Tiffany Key. Such a staple, but I keep on dreaming about having one one day…

4. Tickets. There are so many countries and cities I wanna visit – USA, Vienna, Rome, Barcelona, Finland, Switzerland.

5. Bauble Bar necklace. Bauble Bar, please, please, I’m begging you, arrange international shipping and I will buy away the whole site. Literally. So many gorgeous and elegant pieces. And you get the quality you are paying for.

6. Shu Uemura eyelash curlers. I keep hearing how awesome are those eyelash curlers and that you should invest in a good pair. May be my and there time is coming? We’ll see.

7. Kate Spade Agenda. Do you know that feeling when you open a new fresh agenda? Those clean and crunchy pages? If you do know, then you do.

8. Michael Kors watches. I’ve already own one MK watches and it’s a last year Christmas gift. I love them and I wear them every day. They totally worth the splurge.

Hope you guys get what you want for Christmas this year.  What is in your Christmas list?

DIY: Fancy-shmancy notebook

Today I have a little and easy DIY for you. I love ones that do not require many tools or effort. Sometimes you in a moment for something, you got inspired, but you don’t want to spend entire day recreating what you have in mind and you don’t want to loose that feeling.

Image

We all have those old magazines that we do not use, but for any reason you cannot trow them away. We’ve all been there, right? Well, I have a solution for those dust-collectors.

Image

So for this DIY you will need

  • old magazines
  • scissors
  • glue / or tape
  • simple&ordinary notepad and notebook

I have this old and nooot that pretty notepad the one I use for spanish classes as a vocabulary. But it’s very simple and dull, yes – no sparkle.

Dig through magazines, cut out the pictures you like, some words, phrases, I don’t know, everything that caught your eyes. Be creative. Beauty bobs and bits, some fashion pieces, brand names, whatever inspires you.

Image

Then comes the fun part. Randomly place you pictures, rotate them, overlap them – the options are numerous. I did it on both sides and the insider cover as well. Doesn’t it look cool and edgy now? This is something that will caught people’s eyes and I can assure you everyone will asdk where you get them or how you did it. I’ve been there as well, most of my collage books or even folders were like that and I got tons of questions.

Hope you love the idea and gonna try it out.

Do you have any interesting DIY ideas I might bring to life?
