Hello November

Can you imagine that it’s the 3rd month of fall and winter is just around the corner? Quite unbelievable.

Actually I’m all over Christmas mood – gifts are almost planned, christmas sweaters are spotted. All set, yep. I also want a bit of a snow, too soon? Maybe. But that’s just the way I feel. Okay, enough blabbing, let’s move onto beauty. This month I’m packing with some new beauty and fashion goodies.

DIY Knit Infinity Scarf. Remember the time when those infinity scarfs were super trendy? Well, I’m still on that train. Bright, almost neon blue, soft and warm. What is more to ask?

China Glaze ‘Goldie but Goodie’. This is just Christmas in the bottle and I’ve already told you about the festive mood. Just a dreamy nail polish.

Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil (for dehydrated skin). This the probably the most review face product? Miracle oil. Should I do a separate review?

The Inimitable Jeeves by P.G.Wodehouse. If you thought english humor is non-understandable, give this one a go. This book is full of ridiculous stories and it’s so intriguing to see the way they sort out.

Essie ‘Aperitif’. The most opaque and true red I’ve come across. The great opacity? Check. The wide, do-in-one-swipe brush? Check. The gloss? Check. The 5-day-staying-power? Check. Perfection, in a word.

Kiehl’s hand cream. This is my all-tim favorite hand cream. I used to love Loccitane one (it’s still good) until I’ve tried that one – no grease residue, soft skin, moisturized cuticle. Mission accomplished.

November Music Playlist. I like to switch music on my iPhone pretty regularly – not to overload the memory and always have something perky to listen to. My favorite is Xuso Jones – Celebrating Life and The 1975 – Chocolate.

I’ve already raved about my MAC palette here – link – swatches and color are waiting for you.

What are your plans for November beauty/lifestyle/reading wise?

‘Soft & Gentle’ by MAC

Thanks to make up and special techniques it can help you to cheat. Bigger lips? Conceal the lip line and draw another one with a lip pencil. Light and spaceless brows? Eyeshadow and a brush or an eye pencil and you are Cara Delevingne. No cheekbones? Contouring and highlighting and you are done with the complexion.

The last one is the one I use the most. I’m not Vivien Leigh, so I need something to enhance something or that little that I have. I’ve a lot of bronzers and highlighters, but todays I’m going to talk about one of my favorite one – MAC Mineralize Skinfinish ‘Soft and Gentle’. I just love it. I won’t say it is finely milled at all, there even a small line of chinky glitter (this by the way I like to pop into inner conners with a small brush). At the same time I won’t say that you look crazily glittered with it, no, If you a highlighter-guurl – this one is for you.

Image

Another thing I like to use it for it when I fancy a minimum make up day look I apply it as an eyeshadow, the shimmery lids and a mascara – and you look stunning without any fuss really.

Now I’m on a hunt got theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. This one seems to be heeeeeaaaven…. Something tells me you gonna see me hauling. Poor pocket.

Are you fond of highlighters? Do you have the-one one?

THE WEEK HEROES #1

Blogging is quite a new thing for me and now when a got that thing I’m really thrilled. It seems like that is what I need – my own space to talk about things I love (make-up, nails, skincare etc) without torturing my friends and family members of going on and on about beauty.

So now I’m starting to work on my blog – sorting out the schedule, the categories and all that jazz. So I did spotted that theme on several blogs when they sum up the most used and loved products for a week – and I think it’s pretty interesting, since some products may not come through the final month cut but they worth mentioning. So here you are my ‘THE WEEK HEROES’ series. We’ see how that goes & until then here the 1st round up.

Since my tan is still going strong and thanks to my skincare bit I’m not a fan of any base right now (not a bad thing, huh?), so I mostly stick to powder complexion helpers and eye newbies.IMG_9017

  1. MAC blush ‘Eversun’ (limited edition, unfortunately…). I like this one, cause it’s 3 in 1 product – bronzer-blusher-highlighter. I dust it with a light hand ON my cheek bones – the meeting point of the mentioned above trio.
  2. MAC eyeshadow in Pink Freeze. Not the usual participant when it comes to either MAC eyeshadow or my picks. Pink frosty bluey silver shade. Nothing on the pot but everything on the lids. I like to pair it with brown shade over the lash line for more definition.
  3. Urban Decay Glide-On Eye Pencil ‘Underground’ browny shade with gold shimmer. Remember the definition for pink lids? Yep, this is it.
  4. Rimmel ‘Nude’ eye pencil. Instant wake-up product. Lovely.
  5. KIKO nail polish #338. The mix of lilac and blue. Luuuv it! I’m holding for summer as long as I can. Summer, please, don’t go…

Did you make any discoveries this week? Pop in the comments below – love to get introduced to smth new!

What’s in my make-up bag: TRAVEL EDITION

I don’t know why it is soooo interesting to sneak into others make-up bag, carry-on bag, handbags (or even pencil cases – remember those school sins?) … I find this type of posts/videos really helpful not only in terms of packing, but also in terms of choice. I mean that on vacations we tend to take most reliable and truly loved products – isn’t it the criterium to choose the best from the best?

I’m leaving for a couple of days and already prewritten several posts while I’m away so don’t miss me and those posts.

I decided to pack lightly and even skipped several steps of my skincare routine (shame on me!).

Skincare: Bioderma Sensibio H2O (not packed yet), Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm – decanted into KIKO (the bigger one), Embyolisse Lait-Creme Concentre – the mini KIKO pot, Trilogy Rosehip Oil.

Haircare/Handcare: Moroccanoil for hair (mini version), Burt’s Bees cuticle oil, L’occitane decanted hand cream (the original 20% karite).

Tools & miscellaneous: brushes wise I’m only taking Real Techniques Multi-task one, Urban Decay eyeshadow brush (the one that comes with Naked palette) and my old-trusty Claire’s angled brush for doing my eyebrows. Also I packed to bit of cotton pads and q-tips (cotton tips whatever you call them)… Not sure about the eyelash curlers yet, but I keep them in mind! And a small mirror just in case – the French edition. Also packed tooth brush and a tooth paste – the usual bits.

Hoping to have a great time and really enjoy my staying in the hotel. Promise the slide show again.

What are yours essentials? Hope to hear them down below.

The +1: KIKO eyeshadows/-liners

Todays we are all fond of simplicity. In life, in studies, in spelling, in clothes and make-up is not a exception. Seems like every brand launches multipurpose products (like lips-n-cheeks tints, foundations that combine primers, illuminators, skincare bits and actual tone correctors) or easy-access products (lip lacquers, lip glosses in a stick, creamy eyeshadows)

Image

Today I would like to talk about KIKO eyeliners/eyeshadows range. I just love those – they are creamy, blendable & really pigmented. You can smudge them across the lid for a little wash of color, you can layer it to make it more opaque or you can use them as an eyeliner, draw a slim line on the lash line (upper or bottom – both looks gorgeous).

Image

I tend to use bronzy/taupy shades. They just suite me better and I love them. One of those shades I use specifically. Inner-corner highlighter. So natural and glowy, as well as extremely easy to apply – twist and pop! Also I didn’t want to limit myself to neutrals, so I also picked up a dark shimmery blue shade for times when I fancy some darker smoky-eyes. Nice shade. Can be also apllied all over the lid for a super dramatic look, just blend out the edges!

The shades I have: 04, 05, 06, 07 and 19.

Have you tried something from the KIKO range?

Hope you love them as much as I do.

EYES=SOUL

Time to talk about make-up. I’m truly 100% eye-shadow junkie. So eye make-up girl. If I was to choose between lip product and eye product – definitely eyes!

Image

Speaking about experiments with the shades, of course I’m more a neutral follower, but sometimes I can go “crazy” (not much of course and not on a night out).

TIP:

If you want to go out of your comfort zone (yes, we are still talking about the eye-shadows), just go ahead and choose your “crazy” color and make it work the way you want it. On the crease, on the lash line, under the eye, inner corner – whatever you feel. The tip is not to experiment when you have plans during the day. Perhaps you have a day off and you are planning to spend it watching your favorite TV show or doing laundry and cleaning the house – *blink*  this is THE moment.

I’m not saying I have a tone of eye-shadow, probably not (or not YET) but I’m cannot stop myself from exploring the ocean,

I have several CHANEL ones (my lowest reached ones btw), 2Inglot pallets, around 10 MAC depots, of course individual ones, and yes, I placed an order on Urban Decay Naked one, it took me soo long denying I need it, and justifying the splurge, but I finally didn’t it and cannot wait when it arrives!

Experiment. Don’t be afraid of colors.

THE WISHLIST #1

Well, of course there is a lot of things we want to have, but due to some circumstances we simple can get it. It’s either lack of money, or limited distribution line or something else. As for me it’s my country to blame. We barely get some high-end new launches, I’m not even trying to say a word about drugstore bits.

Blablabla as usual. Me being me.

The item I’ve spotted and got obsessed about getting is Estée Lauder Pure Color Stay On Paints (they just couldn’t come up with a longer name, could they?)

My personal favorite is “Chained” Shade.
